Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - Act 1 was released today. It's a web-show by Joss Whedon of Firefly and Buffy about a Not-so-good mad scientist, Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris) trying to make his way in to The Evil League of Evil and rule the world. Of course, he is also trying to get a girl, Penny (Felicia Day), to notice him. Also in the mix is his nemesis, Capitan Hammer, played ego-tastically by Nathan Fillion.

The first act is up here, and is just as awesome as the trailer would have you believe. The first 3 acts will be streamed free until August 20th when they will become available to buy or you can watch on hulu. (Which you already can on iTunes).

I am already hooked. The songs are catchy, every character is played to perfection, and it's just fun to watch. More info here.

Be Kind Rewind

I was browsing College Humor earlier and came upon this chunk of long awaited gold. It's the trailer for Be Kind Rewind directed by the very talented Michel Gondry that I have been looking forward to for about a year. Here is the Plot Outline according to Wikipedia:

Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant that he believes is melting his brain. But when his plan goes awry, the magnetic field that he creates accidentally erases all of the videotapes in a local video store where his best friend Mike (Mos Def) works. Fearing that the mishap will cost Mike his job, the two friends team up to keep the store's only loyal customer, a little old lady with a tenuous grasp on reality (Mia Farrow) from realizing what has happened by recreating and re-filming every movie that she decides to rent. From Ghostbusters, & Back to the Future, Robocop, Rush Hour 2, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Boyz in the Hood, and The Lion King. Jerry and Mike become the biggest stars in their neighborhood by starring in the biggest movies ever made.

Where have all the Wii's gone?

It's been 8 months since the Wii came out, and I still haven't even seen one in any store, much less had the chance to buy one. People have said to me "They are everywhere!", those people are liars. Or not. I just want to know why me finding a wii is like hunting a jackalope. You know they exist, but you never seem to find one. Although a jackalope would be a little easier to find, it doesn't have motion sensing technology.

I was on Collegehumor earlier and I saw an article about God's phone number. Well, not really God, but some college kids. I called about the Time Paradox, and I got a movie reference and I was asked what yim yim is. I still have no idea what yim yim is, but it was a constructive waste of time, so give them a call.

Flight of the Conchords

Easily my favorite new show and one of my favorite Folk comedy duos. It's about these two guys from New Zealand who have a band. they come to New York in search of fame and probably other stuff too.

Here's a little taste of the show.

Oh, and here's part of there Stage show thing.

I think it's a really funny and creative new show and that it will be very popular. The show on Sundays at 10:30 P.M. ET. and the stage act thing Debuts Friday, June 29 at 11:30 PM. There is some stuff on youtube from other appearances that are also pretty funny.

I may have made that word up, but I couldn't think of any existing word that could describe this thought:

If someone (or someTHING?) were to invent a seed that grew meat would vegetarians eat the grown meat?

I know a Meat Tree is a little out there, but if they can do it, anyone can.
